2018 Juried Group Exhibition

ReCreative Denver is inviting artists of any media and any size to submit to our Juried Group Exhibition. Any Colorado artist will be eligible, though Denver area artist are preferred.

This year we are focusing our juried exhibition around the organization's mission: creative reuse

We are seeking any and all art that relates to creative reuse. Through process, final product, or material choice, we want to see what kind of work you are creating while also being conscious of the environment and the world we live in.

Entry Deadline: November 5th, 2017
Installation: January 2-5, 2018
Show Dates: January 5th, 2018 - January 27th, 2018
Artist Reception: January 5th, 2018 5:00-10:00pm

All artists will be notified of the jury’s decision by November 17th.

All accepted artists will be responsible for shipping or delivery of art. Artwork must be delivered to ReCreative Denver December 19-22 between 10am-6pm, all work delivered outside of this time frame will not be considered unless special arrangements have been made beforehand. Any art that has been shipped must be packaged in a reusable container and return shipping must be paid for.

JURORS

Regan Rosburg: Regan Rosburg is an artist and naturalist. Recently, her work has been an investigation into society's collective grief, melancholia and mania which manifests as consumption and distraction. Regan has had numerous solo and group exhibitions around the country, with the most recent being an exhibition she curated herself spanning three sites in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver titled “Axis Mundi” in conjunction with the Biennales of America. This exhibition included over 20 artists from America and Canada. She is represented locally by William Havu Gallery as well as Haven Gallery in Long Island, New York.

Michael W. Vacchiano: Michael W. Vacchiano is a Denver based artist with a primary focus in figurative oil painting and portraiture. Michael completed his BFA at CU Boulder in 2004 and has been an active member of the Denver art scene ever since. He was the co-owner and curator of Point Gallery and recently completed The Curtis Hotel Mural Project with fellow artist Forrest J Morrison. Recent exhibitions include Artopia 2016, Best of Santa Fe 2016 and Sticky Situation 2016. Michael’s work has been exhibited throughout Colorado and his paintings can be found in a number of private collections throughout the United States and abroad.

Emily Korson: Emily Korson is an artist, art educator, and co-founder of both ReCreative Denver and our sister organization, Seattle ReCreative.  A Colorado native, Emily recently returned to Denver after many adventures in Seattle, Brooklyn, Boston, San Francisco, and Portland, Oregon. Emily holds a BA in studio art from Reed College, an Advanced Certificate in Art and Design Education from Pratt Institute and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting & Drawing from the San Francisco Art Institute.
