Upcycled Art Camp [July 24-26]

In this three day workshop, recycled material will be transformed into upcycled art.  Focusing on using discarded materials, students will learn the importance and the beauty of recycled art.  Using magazines, student artists will roll and fold recycled magazines to create their choice of a bowl, vase, coasters, bracelet, etc.  Exploring fiber arts, students will utilize old t-shirts and fabric to create a rug or weaving.  Students will also learn about artists that specifically use recycled materials to create art with a focus on Louise Nevelson.  Inspired by Nevelson, students will assemble three-dimensional materials to create a sculpture.  Students will walk away from this workshop with a new perspective as to what is considered an art material.In this three day workshop, recycled material will be transformed into upcycled art.
