Sewing Machine Maintenance [July 5th]
Sewing Machine Maintenance [July 5th]
Saturday, July 5th | 10:00am - 1:00pm
16+ | $90
This class is for the curious and the careful folks. Let’s take a deeper look into your sewing machine and how it operates. We will be removing pieces, cleaning, and oiling your machine. While this is a basic maintenance routine, consistency will prevent larger issues from developing inside your machine. No prior sewing experience is needed. All supplies are provided. You may bring your own sewing machine to class, however, we may not have all the tools required for it. Please bring your manual and any tools that came with your machine.
Jackie Drummond (they/she) grew up in Colorado in a multicultural and multigenerational house of sewists. They learned to sew at a young age and received a degree in Technical Theater from Fort Lewis College. There she studied costuming, fashion design, alterations, and machinery from Jane Gould. She is excited to share the foundations of fiber arts through sewing and support the community in their creations! Jackie encourages Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), Queer/2SLGTBQIA+, Children, Elders, Disabled, and Neurodiverse creators to join them in class, where they intentionally hold space for marginalized people to reclaim joy!
