Adults | $75
Breathe new life into your wardrobe in this hands-on upcycling workshop! Participants will learn how to transform a woven button-down shirt into a completely reimagined, one-of-a-kind piece using creative sewing and embellishment techniques.
You’ll explore ways to personalize your garment by:
Swapping sleeves
Altering hemlines
Adding darts, pleats, and appliqué
Incorporating lace, patches, buttons, or paint
We'll use basic sewing and patterning skills to cut, reconstruct, and embellish your shirts. Techniques covered include:
Cutting and shaping with fabric scissors
Simple pattern-making using garment parts
Machine sewing to hem, gather, and attach new sleeves or decorative elements
Using fabric adhesives for non-sewn embellishments
Basic sewing machine experience is recommended, including threading the machine, winding bobbins, and selecting stitches.
Participants should bring one or more woven shirts (think button-downs), along with any fabrics, trims, lace, patches, or other materials they’d like to incorporate into their design.
