Traditional Raku Firing

$150.00

Saturday, May 4th | 9am - 12pm

17+ | $150

Get ready to dive into the fiery art of Raku firing in this lively workshop with Andy Grossman of AISi Ceramics! We'll kick things off with an engaging discussion on Raku firing basics and best practices. Then, it's time to get hands-on and put our knowledge to the test with actual Raku firing. With three glazes to choose from, you'll have the chance to add your personal touch to your pieces. Whether you're keen to get your hands dirty or prefer to observe, there's room for everyone to participate at their comfort level. And don't worry if you don't have Raku Clay - any white stoneware with grog will do the trick.

Participants can bring up to 4 bisqued pieces, max size: 12” tall with an 8” circumference. These pieces *must be bisque fired* before arriving at the workshop on May 4th.

**If you do not have access to a kiln to bisque fire, ReCreative is offering firing for a separate fee of $30 for up to four pieces. Pieces must be dropped off during store hours, 12-6pm, April 21st-23rd, and fit the size requirements for the raku firing. No work will be accepted after April 23rd for bisque firing.**
