This show celebrates the familiar scream queens from films of the past, to current. Highlighted throughout the space are pieces in vintage brass frames of all different sizes and types, creating a unity while also adding a kitchy layer reminding us of the past. These pieces serve as glittered sparkly alters to woman in film, especially in the horror genre, a genre continually overlooked. The pieces are created using glitter, sequins, sand, paint, ink, and pencil. The meticulously applied embellishments shine through 25+ pieces to fill the space and create a conversation on these icons of film reaching from beloved present characters to the icons of the past.
