Sew Your Own Recycled Boxer Shorts – A Beginner Sewing Workshop
Join ReCreative and Andrea Fischer for a fun, beginner-friendly sewing class where you’ll learn how to use a sewing machine while making your very own pair of gender-neutral boxer shorts—entirely from reclaimed and recycled materials! This workshop is perfect for anyone curious about sewing, sustainability, or just looking to create something comfy, stylish, and truly one of a kind.
In this hands-on class, you’ll be guided through the basics of machine sewing, including how to thread the machine, choose stitches, and follow a simple pattern. Then, you’ll dive into assembling your own custom-fit boxer shorts using pre-cut fabric from reclaimed textiles. Patterns are available in sizes XS to 2XL, and we’re happy to work with you on adjustments—if your size isn’t listed, just reach out. We want everyone to feel fabulous and included.
Pro tip: Wear something that makes it easy to try your shorts on over your clothes—we’ll be doing some quick fit checks along the way.
You’ll leave with a fresh new skill, some sewing machine confidence, and your new favorite pair of handmade, sustainable boxers.
All materials and tools are provided—just bring yourself and a spirit of creativity!
