Sunday, December 6thth | 1pm - 4pm
18+ | $75
In this introductory course to Korean paper-felting known as joomchi, participants learn to manipulate and fuse layers of mulberry paper according to traditional practice. When dampened with water, the plant fibers in mulberry or hanji paper break down and fuse to one another, resulting in an almost fabric-like consistency. In addition to guiding students through the binding process and design process, the workshop offers a variety of techniques for participants to manipulate shape, striation and texture in their final joomchi piece.
