In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore a variety of creative hand-sewing techniques for repairing and revitalizing well-loved clothing. Learn how to address holes, stains, and worn areas on both knit and woven fabrics using decorative and functional methods like embroidery, sashiko stitching, and fabric patching.
Students are encouraged to bring their own garments to work on (no socks, please—we won’t have darning supplies). While no prior embroidery or sashiko experience is needed, a basic familiarity with hand sewing—such as threading a needle and tying knots—is recommended. Come ready to mend, customize, and give your clothes new life.
